New Jersey Devils at Philadelphia Flyers, April 5, 2007

New Jersey Devils: 80GP ; 48W-24L-8OTL ; 104 points ; last 10 games: 6-4-0; Road record: 23-14-3; 1st Atlantic; second in conference
Philadelphia Flyers: 79GP ; 21W-46L-12OTL 54 points; last 10 games: 2-7-1; Home record: 9-22-7; 5th Atlantic; 15th in conference

Season series:
The Devils lead the season series 6-1. They last beat the Flyers last Friday. The two division rivals have had opposite seasons. The Flyers could set a record for fewest points in a regular season. They currently have 53 with 3 games left. The previous record is 58 in 1969-70, in a 76-game season.

The Devils need only 1 point to clinch the Division. They have a three-point lead in the division. With two games remaining, one point would be enough since they have the first tie-breaker (most wins). But watching the standings is certainly not what the Devils will be doing tonight. With Lou back behind the bench they will be focused on their game. They'd better!

The Devils have won 5 of their last 6 games to keep it tight in the Division race. The Penguins seem to be slowing down a little bit. Could it be because of the pressure? They will find out during the playoffs.

Lou Lamoriello will look for an other solid game from the Devils. He seemed satisfied with the last win against the Senators, his first back behind the bench. If the Devils get his message (of firing Julien) , they have to be accountable and play with a playoff attitude.

The Devils play at home against the Islanders on Sunday for the season finale. Although it is a (very) long-shot, the Islanders could still be fighting for a playoffs spot

Both the Flyers and Devils had their coach fired. The records are a lot different though and it is mind boggling to a lot of people that Lou Lamoriello fired Coach Julien.

Brodeur tied the record for most wins on Tuesday night against the Senators. He did it on Bernie Parent's Birthday and have a chance to beat it tonight in the Flyers' barn. Bernie Parent has spent most of his career playing for Philadelphia. Parent might be in attendance tonight.
