New Jersey Devils injury update

Brian Gionta who took a Patrick Elias shot in the foot had X-rays taken straight away on Tuesday night. The X-rays were negative, which means nothing is broken but Gionta looks like he is not ready to play just yet.

Scott Gomez who missed two games afer suffering a bruised thigh last Friday against the Flyers, practiced on Wednesday. He might play tonight.

The big question surrounding the Devils is to know whether Richard Matvichuk will play or not. He has been on Injury Reserve since the beginning of the season after having back surgery. Lou Lamoriello kept saying Matvichuk will play at least a game in the regular season. He needs to play at least a game to be eligible to play in the playoffs. He traveled with the team so he could play tonight.
